Bob Alexander has today sent the following message to members of the STP:
As you may already be aware, I have been asked by NHS Improvement and NHS England to provide leadership to the Sussex and East Surrey STP as Executive Chair.
I will remain employed by NHS Improvement, but will be increasingly stepping back from many of my national responsibilities, enabling me to dedicate around three days per week to the STP to begin with.
I would like to thank Michael Wilson for his energy and commitment in chairing the STP since its inception. Under his leadership, the partnership has begun to make significant progress in a local landscape that is particularly complex and challenging. I know that Michael is keen to be able to devote more attention to his own trust and working with partners.
In the coming weeks I will be seeking to meet as many of you as possible, as part of formally taking on the role, along with other local partners and stakeholders. A priority is to ensure that we have the necessary leadership, governance and infrastructure in place as the STP moves from a planning phase to delivery.
I look forward to working with you and to supporting the partnership in delivering its vision for better health, better care and more sustainable services for the people we serve.
