The STP is a partnership and a way of working. It has no powers to make decisions on behalf of the individual partner organisations. These powers continue to sit with each partner organisation’s board.
STP governance arrangements are being refreshed as the partnership brings greater focus to supporting the delivery of shared plans. The current arrangements, put in place in April 2017, were intended as an interim measure that would be reviewed after 12 months to ensure they remain fit for purpose as the partnership develops.
Work on the governance arrangements has been informed by a review of the existing processes and documentation and has also looked at the arrangements from other STP areas. The views of a wide range of stakeholders have been canvassed. The intention is that revised arrangements will, subject to agreement, be rolled out from April 2018 onwards.
